Updating my sound driver

Unelss you know what you're doing, it's hard to know which one to download, so you end up doing a lot of trial-and-error.

Multiply that by 10, 20, 30 or more hardware devices, and you're in for a very long couple of days.

I have gone to my control panel several times, selected 'Hardware and Sound', and looked around, but I can't find anything in there that allows me to select HDMI.

It instantly finds, downloads and installs the right drivers.

I have my laptop (HP) connected to my Sony TV with an HDMI cable. Then I went back to connecting my HP laptop to the Sony TV and tested the sound in control panel, and the sound from my computer came out of the Sony TV perfectly.

Most of the time, we recommend scanning for updates once a month.

Drivers are usually released by chip manufacturers who then supply them to computer manufacturers.For example, some of the more popular companies will release new drivers every two weeks or once a month, especially when new operating systems come out, such as the newest Windows 10 Operating System has been released.
